Tibetan Incense Sticks
This range is put together following ancient medicinal recipes
taken from texts, monks and doctors from different spirtitual schools,
notably that of Dr Lobsang Khangkar, practitioner to the Dalai Lama
and thought of as the ‘mother of Tibetan medicine’.
They are used for meditational and ritual purposes and also for
healing.

Disharmony of energies in Tibetan medicine is seen as an imbalance
of different ‘winds’ (Ch’I in Chinese, r’Lung
in Tibetan, Vata in Indian Ayurveda.
Medicinal herbs picked at high altitude in the Himalayas are mixed
with water to make a paste and rolled into stick forms. The resulting
mixtures are known for their effect on the spiritual plane like
white sandalwood and agarwood, whereas others are more typically
Tibetan like the blue Lotus of the Himalayas, Aquiliaria, Asafoetida,
Rhodedendron, Chrysanthenum and Juniper. They can equally be mixed
with a little apricot or nut oil and massaged onto points of tension.
Himalaya
A fresh aroma with a hint of aniseed and cyprus. Made up of a formula
containing 31 different herbs including Aquilaria Agalolocha (agarwood).
The recipe was conceived by Dr Lobsang Khangka, of the Lhassa school,
to relax the spirit and dissipate any nervous tension.

Mandala
Similarily devised by Dr Lobsang Khangka this also contains a great
number of curative herbs, such as cloves and Myristiiicia fragrans,
which is used in Tibet against disorder of energy which result in
insomnia, instability and emotional troubles.

Buddha
This has a very typically fresh Tibetan aroma and is made up of
the famous 27 ingredients of Nagarjuna. It is generally used to
create an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

Lotus
This preparation of Dr. Lobsang Khangka contains Himalayan blue
lotus which gives a fresh and pure aroma, along with numerous other
plants and herbal extracts including the ‘6 plants and sacred
roots of the Himalayas’.
